Hey everyone!
First and foremost, if you’re reading this, THANK YOU! I really appreciate those that take time out of their day to swing by and take a quick read of the latest news regarding our favorite modern army action figures and all other 1:18 offerings for that matter.
This post serves as something a bit different today – This post marks my 100th consecutive day of posting here on SurveillancePort.com. This is such a big deal for me. Why? Well, here’s the scoop –
I launched this page back in 2018 with one goal – To do what I love most, sharing news, rumors, pics and more from our community. I’ve been “newsing” since 2003, so after 20 years, it’s safe to say that I love my hobby.
Things came to a halt here on two separate occasions – The first was back in 2019, when I was diagnosed with Cancer (yikes). I didn’t know what the future held for me at that time, but it was safe to say that posting wasn’t my main priority.
Then came a second lull, one which had me thinking that I was going to step away from this all together. Truth be told, I was laying all this unnecessary pressure on myself to post X amount of articles a day, with reposts of X amount of social channels, responding and engaging with X amount of posts.
That approach may be suitable for those that are trying to make this a business. For me, this has always been a hobby and something that I’m passionate about, so I decided to re-think my approach. Sure, I post here and there, but there wasn’t any consistency. I’d be lying if I didn’t say depression played a part in it, but that’s a story for another day.
100 days ago, I looked at my Wife and said “I’m not sure I have it in me to do this anymore.” She of course knew I was full if it and suggested “maybe just one post a day?”
100 days later, here we are.
Again, all, thank you for being a part of this – For reading, for responding, for sharing and for your love of the hobby. I’m only on one social platform consistently, so feel free to add me on Insta: https://www.instagram.com/surveillance_port/
With that, my friends, here’s to the next 100! THANK YOU!!
Erick
