Heads up, Joe fans! Carson of 3DJoes has shared word that final edits for the Collecting the Art of G.I.Joe: A Real American Hero! omnibus are now complete!
Here’s the scoop –

Final edits complete: Now with more interviews and more art! DVD/Blu-ray update. Full book preview!
Hello backers,
The second pass of writing and layouts is complete, and Chad has finished yet another pass on all 11/11 eight page gatefolds and 39/39 sixteen page signatures. All 712 pages have been restored. YO CHAD!
Waitaminute. Did you say 712 pages?
Yes, I sure did. And that’s it. Seriously this time. No more! We’re done. Barring any necessary revisions coming from [REDACTED], this is it.
So where did the new content come from?
The word count is currently 75,281, which is up from 62,695 last month. This book shares insights and quotes pulled from interviews with Bill Merklein, Bob Lavoie, Doug Hart, Ed Morrill, Frank Coroneos, Guy Cassaday, Kirk Bozigian, Larry Hama, Mark Pennington, Nel Yomtov, Richard John Marcej, Ron Rudat, Vinnie D’Alleva, and more. I finally had the chance to edit the following new video interviews (filmed over the last couple years) to (1) condense them for the DVDs/Blu-rays and (2) transcribe quotes for the book:
Interview 1. Doug Hart “Collecting the Art of G.I.JOE” book review (to nail down artist credits) – trimmed from ~5 hours to 103 minutes:

Interview 2. Doug Hart comprehensive interview (to build his 3DJoes Creator Profile and Artist Profile in the book) – trimmed from ~2.5 hours to 43 minutes:

Interview 3. Ed Morrill comprehensive interview (to build his 3DJoes Creator Profile and Artist Profile in the book) – trimmed from ~5 hours to 131 minutes:

Interview 4. Kirk Bozigian art focused interview (to include his insights throughout the book) – trimmed from ~4 hours to 96 minutes:

Interview 5. Vinnie D’Alleva comprehensive interview (to build his 3DJoes Creator Profile and include his insights throughout the book) – trimmed from 4+ hours to 178 minutes (tons of great new material!):

In addition to these multi-camera productions that will be shared with backers via the DVDs/Blu-rays, I’ve recorded dozens of hours of interviews with the same folks (and more!) over the last three years:

I skimmed those sessions and transcribed quotes to enrich the book further. These sessions included Ed Morril (12.75 hours over five sessions), Kirk Bozigian (5 hours over three sessions), Nelson Yomtov (3 hours in one session), and Bob Prupis (1.5 hours in one session). I am honored to add each and every one of these voices to the Art of G.I.JOE: A Real American Hero Omnibus Hardcover.
In addition to adding new text, we’ve added some new imagery as well:

We’ve also been refining and finalizing layouts:

And we’ve got the interior of the clamshell case ready to share too! It features illustrated versions of the creators’ chosen figures, meticulously illustrated by Brian Sauer of Code Name: Iowa and Assembly Required:

So, as I mentioned. Our work is COMPLETE!
If you would like to see a TOP SECRET preview of the entire book, ***REDACTED*** Please do not share **** *****, it’s intended for Kickstarter backers only. If you have the discipline to wait until the book is in hand, I applaud your commitment to delayed gratification.
Thank you for your patience as we finalize files and get a timeline for delivery from the printer!
Carson
Talk about an absolute labor of love that will be cemented in to G.I.Joe history. I seriously cannot wait to add this bad boy to my collection and to watch the DVD with my boys!
