Unproduced Star Brigade Power Fighters Concept Review

If you know me, then you know of my absolute love affair with the G.I.Joe subgroup known as Star Brigade. As a fan of most, if not all 80s properties, the sci-fi-ness of the line was something that was right up my alley.

As such, I’m beyond excited to share this fantastic Rarities Article by Forgotten Figures – This time around, we get to take a look at the Unproduced G.I.Joe & Cobra Star Brigade Power Fighters Concepts!

Initially revealed in the 1993 G.I.Joe Product Catalog, the Power Fighters had a much different design that the Mech suits that would be released the following year in 1994. Even then, the Mech Suits had a different features than what was released, but that’s a discussion for another article.

As you can see from the images, the play feature on these offerings was set to be widely different from that of the Mech. These Power Fighters were actual vehicles, with “Power Gear”. Unfortunately, Hasbro couldn’t get the concept to work right, so the idea was scrapped, giving way to the offerings that we know as Power Fighters today.

Oh how I would love to see these up close and personal. What about you? What are your thoughts on these unproduced Power Fighters and Star Brigade in general?
