Hasbro PulseCon 2022 – G.I.Joe Panel Recap

Well, my friends, I’ve been dusting off the cobwebs here and there, as I’d hate to miss the chance to chew the fat with my fellow G.I.Joe fans, especially after Hasbro PulseCon.

To cut to the chase, for 1:18 scale collectors, the silence was deafening. No “coming soon”, no “maybe we’ll talk about it later”…not even a “hey, let’s look at the Skystriker some more”. None of that.

What there was plenty of, however, was G.I.Joe Classified to sink your 1:12 scale loving teeth in to, so let’s take a look at what was presented today –

“Name Only Reveals” – Offerings being presented by name only, with a planned release in 2023 sometime, included the Cobra Snow Serpent, Dreadnok Buzzer and a female Cobra Trooper. (images courtesy of/property of 3DJoes.com)

3D Render Reveals – Up next were a grouping of (5) offerings that are coming our way soon. As with previous G.I.Joe themed presentations, these reveals were presented in 3D render only, with sculpts and product artwork coming our way sometime soon. Included are –

Rock ‘n Roll – A modernized look with new art on his arms.
Bazooka – Classic look
Torpedo – My favorite of all the render reveals. Can’t wait for that one.
Copperhead – Interestingly enough, the only Cobra offering revealed in this format.
Shipwreck – Removable hair piece, attachable polly, 100% awesome.

HasLab Cobra H.I.S.S. Tank Teaser Update – In between reveal segments came our first look at a pair of figures being served up alongside the highly anticipated G.I.Joe Classified Cobra H.I.S.S. Tank! Fans were treated to a look at the H.I.S.S. Gunner and “Mickey Mouse” Cobra Commander –

Preorder Reveals – Next up on the reveal block were items that would be available for preorder at 5pm EST for Pulse Members, 6pm for the General Public. This round was given a bit more attention, with the Joe team sharing product photography and artwork with us as well! Check it out –

Marauders Barbecue – I’m a sucker for a subgroup and this paint scheme on this figure just does it for me.

Crimson B.A.T. – Said to match the Twins and the Crimson Guard perfectly, I’m sure this is going to become one hot troop builder as fans try to flesh out their Crimson armies.

Falcon – Please note: The Joe team said that the lighting was messing a bit with the appearance of the camo pattern on the figure. That said, he’s a faithful homage to the fan favorite figure and will undoubtedly find his way on to many a shelf.

Outback – Once we saw the Tiger Force version, it was a non-brainer that the original scheme would be coming our way too (as with Bazooka). That said, this figure is just SHARP. I can’t wait to see what magic Gridiron Studios cooks up for him.

Covergirl – Last and most definitely not least is Covergirl. Is that modular Wolverine a hint at something to come one day? I mean, who cares, LOOK AT HER WRENCH!

Hasbro PulseCon 2022 Exclusive Serpentor with Air Chariot – This is the bad mamajama that everyone is waiting for, none other than the Cobra Emperor, Serpentor! It’s so well done. Even as someone who doesn’t collect the scale, I most definitely want to try to add one to my collection. I assume there will be many others like me, so this is an easy sell out for the G.I.Joe team. Congrats you all!

The fangs on the Cobra head retract and a laser extends. C’mon, that’s amazing! I cannot wait to whoosh this one around the house.

The next item up on display was quite a fun surprise; Announced was a G.I.Joe x Nerf Crossover event, with a Nerf Blaster taking center stage. What’s really neat about this piece is that it displays G.I.Joe artwork on one side of the weapon, Cobra on the other..and the packaging displays the same way as well!

The icing on the cake? The Blaster comes with an exclusive variant cover of IDW’s G.I.Joe A Real American Hero #300, the final issue of G.I.Joe!
