Heads up! The team behind CALLSIGN: LONGBOW, an upcoming line of all new, “Retro-Style”, O-ring action figures and accessories, shared a development update with the masses today.
Before we get in to that though, just a quick FYI for those that haven’t familiar with the brand:
Set during the closing years of the Cold War, the action-packed story follows a top-secret American covert operation unit as they battle the insidious forces of the Soviet Union!
How 80’s awesome is that? (and relevant now, all things considered)…
All that aside, here’s the scoop –
January is almost over so it’s probably time for a Development Update on Callsign: Longbow™.
First things first, what we keep getting asked, “when is the Kickstarter launching?” And the answer to that is soon (we just don’t know how soon). Sorry. With the rise in costs of (all kinds of) materials, we are working with our factory to get updated, more accurate costs. This is something we really need nailed down before launch so we set our funding and stretch goals properly. That said, we want to launch as soon as we reasonably can, and we are pushing to do so. Hold on a little longer.
But the march to victory continues.
The Kickstarter campaign is already partially built, and we are finalizing the order of our stretch goal unlocks.
We have a big announcement about a partnership and a cross-over figure as part of that coming. We’re really excited about this one!
We’re working with a classic artist who worked on much of the packaging art for G.I. Joe and other lines in the 1980s and 1990s for all new character art. This has been so much fun to work on this week and we can’t wait to show you!
We’ve been working with the team over at Broken Icon Comics on the Callsign: Longbow™ comic. The script is done and we’ve moved on to art!
So we have lots more to share with you in the coming weeks. For this week we wanted to share this new cast of Lancer in more accurate colors that our good friend Raginspoon put together for us. You should see it before Troy messes it up trying to paint it.
As a reminder, if you haven’t yet, please like and follow us on your favorite social media platform to stay informed when we announce our launch date.
I don’t know about you, but as a fan of all things o-ring, I’m beyond excited for this line! It’ll be great to have another 1:18 scale offering to work alongside our favorite modern army action figure, especially now that G.I.Joe is on its way back to us in o-ring form.
What say you? Are you in for this project?
Oh my God YES!!! All you guys doing this great work are to be commended! Will you b taking idea submissions for figures like others?

Hi Dean! I believe that they are! Make sure to reach out on the Call Sign Facebook page (and my apologies in advance if that’s not entirely accurate, my excitement for the line may be blinding me!)
