Nice, but I don’t appreciate the fact that IDW has made the John Royle covers on more recent issues the incentives. This used to be cover B and as such easy to get if you wanted it.

    • Indeed; This is actually a conversation that I had with my local shop.

John’s work being set as RI forces “you” to ask for the book to be held for you, which typically leads to extended sales as well.

Yep, and considering my Belgian retailer doesn’t sell enough GI Joe comics (not that he’s difficult about variants as he usually sells them to me for cover price if he gets them, even when they are extremely limited like 1:50 or 1:100… admitted, I buy a loooooooot of comics each month, but it’s still a nice gesture which I fully appreciate) and Diamond and IDW don’t always seem to follow the correct procedure when it comes to variants, it’s rather rare that I get these incentives. Every now and then, one will pop up, but its more the exception than the rule. 😦

  2. Well my friend, although I can’t promise that it will always be possible, if I can ever try to help and get you any variants you may be on hunt for, just give me the word!
