Earlier this evening, Tom Waltz took to his Twitter account to once again feed us #GIJoe fans a little taste of IDW goodness. Time time around, we were treated to the cover art for G.I.Joe A Real American Hero #280 – Untold Tales Part 5. Check it out –

Bespectacled, beautiful, brilliant, & bombastic! The #Baroness bewitches in #GIJoe A Real American Hero #280 #UntoldTales Part 5 — BEWARE! Brought to you by Living Legend #LarryHama @RonJoseph717 #KieronMcKeown @johnroyle_art & @jbrowncolors! @IDWPublishing @hasbro @megan_mb
The more I hear/read about Untold Tales, the more amped I’m getting. What about you? Looking forward to Untold Tales, or skipping it all together?
Nice, but I don’t appreciate the fact that IDW has made the John Royle covers on more recent issues the incentives. This used to be cover B and as such easy to get if you wanted it.

Indeed; This is actually a conversation that I had with my local shop.
John’s work being set as RI forces “you” to ask for the book to be held for you, which typically leads to extended sales as well.

Yep, and considering my Belgian retailer doesn’t sell enough GI Joe comics (not that he’s difficult about variants as he usually sells them to me for cover price if he gets them, even when they are extremely limited like 1:50 or 1:100… admitted, I buy a loooooooot of comics each month, but it’s still a nice gesture which I fully appreciate) and Diamond and IDW don’t always seem to follow the correct procedure when it comes to variants, it’s rather rare that I get these incentives. Every now and then, one will pop up, but its more the exception than the rule. 😦

Well my friend, although I can’t promise that it will always be possible, if I can ever try to help and get you any variants you may be on hunt for, just give me the word!

I’ll keep that in mind! 🙂 I sure appreciate the gesture!
