Hey Everyone! I wanted to take a moment to wish each and everyone of you a very happy and health Labor Day! It’s safe to say that 2020 has been quite the unique year, so hopefully you’re able to unwind and relax today.
For those of you that aren’t from the/in the States, Labor day is a holiday here in the U.S. that’s celebrated on the 1st Monday in September. It’s intent is to honor the American labor movement and the power of collective action by laborers.
From Wiki – Beginning in the late 19th century, as the trade union and labor movements grew, trade unionists proposed that a day be set aside to celebrate labor. “Labor Day” was promoted by the Central Labor Union and the Knights of Labor, which organized the first parade in New York City. In 1887, Oregon was the first state of the United States to make it an official public holiday. By the time it became an official federal holiday in 1894, thirty states in the United States officially celebrated Labor Day.
To all of you that bust your hump every day, I salute you! To those of you that are even working today, well then it goes without saying that YOU’RE the Real American Hero!
Happy Labor Day, everyone!
-Erick
