Today marked Hasbro Pulse’s Fan First Friday event that was once again centered around Transformers and G.I.Joe.
You guessed it, I’ll be focusing on what was shown on the G.I.Joe things, so let’s get to it! First off, the current was finally pulled back on the Retro line. If you had your money on an updated modern era style offerings in vintage packaging, well then you’re about to cash out big. Let’s check it out –
The Retro line is based on re-issues of items offered through recent history, such as the fan favorites Pursuit of Cobra Snake Eyes and Renegades Storm Shadow, alongside the Baroness from the SDCC crossover set.
We also get a re-issue of the H.I.S.S. Tank and A.W.E. Striker, both sporting updated drivers. Let’s take a look:

The assortment above solidifies the information that was shared earlier this week, when it was reported that new details were emerging on the G.I.Joe Retro Line.
There’s still one more reveal to get to, so I’ll save my thoughts for the end. Next up, G.I.Joe Classified fans were treated to a deluxe version of Cobra Commander that was set to be released as an SDCC Exclusive. Check it out:
Slated for a release this September, this deluxe version marks the 3rd release of this mold in recent history. However, it’s decked out quite nicely and that packaging is superb.

Final Thoughts:
The Retro line is not what I was hoping for; That said, I’m very pleased to see so many excited for it. Many G.I.Joe fans have wanted an “ultimate” version of their favorite G.I.Joe characters for quite some time and this line looks to be aimed at scratching that itch. As I’ve already owned each item shown so far, I don’t see myself picking these up, but if they offer a v2 Destro somewhere down the line, you know I’m in!
As for that CoCo…definitely not my cup of tea. That box is gorgeous though, so maybe I’ll grab one just for that display purpose. Time will tell.

A lot of backlash from fans. Snake-Eyes and Storm-Shadow are previous molds, but I can’t tell if the Baroness figure is new.
