If you were one of the 503 backers that contributed to the1:12 (6″ Scale) Super Articulated Action Figure Blanks Kickstarter Campaign by Cryptid Toys, then you’ll want to pay close attention to this update.
Cryptid Toys has sent out word that they are willing to offer a refund to any backer that is interested. Here’s the scoop –

As you all are well aware, it’s been a long and constant struggle with getting these figures completed and receiving corrected changes from the factories. They are still failing to meet all the promised deadlines they give and continue to request additional payment for making changes (after already paying in addition to the original tooling costs a few times) which is not the norm. After inquiring about having the tooling sent to another factory for completing the orders, they denied allowing that and their communication has become even more sparse. Many tooling changes and further test pulls from the molds have been done but the tooling is just not quite where it needs to be to deliver the quality of figures promised. We are negotiating with them over these issues to get everything back on track and have progress made much quicker than it has been. The figures will see a release as soon as they are ready, obviously as soon as that is possible. This is as frustrating as can be, knowing that the delays are letting all you backers down!
At this point since it has been a long while past the original estimated delivery, the requests for cancelling pledges is completely understood. This is a hard decision to make since it further strains things, but should you want a refund, that will be done.
Refunds for those who requested will be processed today. If you have emailed or sent a message through Kickstarter, you will be messaged back for confirmation once the refund has been submitted. Kickstarter takes 1-2 days to complete the refund and is returned via the original payment method.
To those who are understanding of this being a small operation and dealing with the overseas factories where there is not much structure and an almost ‘anything goes’ attitude with how they do their business, many thanks!

Backed the Army Alphas, and we got the same message in Jan. No word since then on production, refunds, anything. They took 150k from 2 kickstarters and bounced on us. The worst.

Hey Adam, I’m so sorry to hear that you’re in the same boat. UGH.
I completely understand that the guy ran in to issues in China. It hit a lot of outfits that were producing toys. That said, transparency and communication would have gone a long way.

Does anyone know what happened to this @sshat? No reply to the Kickstarter page for over a year. I’m assuming he’s just run off with the money?

Sadly, that does seem to be the case. I’d highly recommend reaching out to your Credit Card company and see if they can reverse the charge as it’s basically fraud.
I’m so sorry. I too lost money on this deal but was able to work with my CC company to get it resolved.

Sad to say that it’s dead; The “creator” disappeared with mostly everyone’s money.
