Beaver Ltd. has been releasing some absolutely amazing offerings under their B2FIVE banner. These 1:28 scale offerings have been a hit with fans, as they’ve initially encompassed figures, vehicles and accessories from the Acid Rain World.
Now, there’s a new series under the B2FIVE umbrella and it’s one that fans have gone absolutely crazy over – the all new B2FIVE VOTOMS Series!
Wave 1 brings us a series of must haves including the SCOPEDOG ATM-09-ST with Chirico Cuvie, the BRUTISHDOG ATM-09-GC with Fyana and two must have expansion packs – the SCOPEDOG RED SHOULDER CUSTOM ATM-09-RSC set with Vanilla Vartla and Security Officer alongside the ROUND MOVER ATC-BR1-S with Gilgamesh Pilot and Soldier.
I had the absolute honor of reviewing all 4 offerings from wave 1 and have put together a recap of some of my favorite images below. Read on for full links, along with my combined thoughts after the jump!

I’m beyond excited to share a recap of my reviews of the amazing new offerings from B2FIVE as they’re based on one of my favorite anime – Armored Trooper VOTOMS!
Let’s kick things off with none other that the SCOPEDOG ATM-09-ST, piloted by the heroic Chirico Cuvie! For those of you unfamiliar with Armored Trooper VOTOMS, let’s take a look at the SCOPEDOG in action against another upcoming review item, the BRUTISHDOG –
The SCOPEDOG comes in gorgeous packaging, with a window box showing the upper portion of the Mech. As with previous B2FIVE offerings, the Mech, Pilot and accessories are enclosed in a plastic clamshell, with vibrant colors and description throughout the packaging. What else is pretty cool is the inclusion of papercraft crates with the B2FIVE logo printed along the top. Here you can see the size of the crate next to Chirico.
The Engineers at Beaver LTD really hit a home run with the design of the SCOPEDOG, as it lowers in to docking position exactly like in the anime. Positioning it immediately gave me a flash of nostalgia.
Chirico is the main protagonist of the Armored Trooper Votoms franchise. His B2FIVE offering is highly articulated, with points at the shoulders, elbows, wrist, ab crunch, waist, thighs, knees, ankles and head. He includes his signature pistol. It’s incredible how much articulate B2FIVE crams in to these offerings. I think that’s what makes me like them so much!
The SCOPEDOG’s cockpit fits the pilot perfectly. The control panel moves forward, allowing for room to get your pilot in without having to bend his legs in awkward positions. Again, for a small piece, the detailing in the cockpit is great. The hatch closes over the pilot without issue and the scope elevates, showing the pilot just like in the show!
The overall articulation of the piece is incredible. If this is the kind of articulation we can expect from the VOTOMS line, then you can count me all in for the entire run! Again, the detailed paid to this piece really does it justice. It’s dual antennas hang off the size of the helmet, while it’s scope can rotate all 3 lenses. I really love the look of the SCOPEDOG and really appreciate the work that BEAVER Ltd put in to it.
The SCOPEDOG comes with its signature GAT-22 30mm heavy machine gun w/grenade launcher. Expansion sets include the Round Mover and Red Shoulder Custom which will be reviewed later this holiday weekend.
The SCOPEDOG is able to hold his weapon in all sorts of poses and the removable ammo clip is a really nice touch. The handle and stock are also removable, allowing for easy storage of its weaponry.
One of the coolest aspects of the new VOTOMS line is its interchangeability with B2FIVE Acid Rain offerings. For this series, Chirico meets the legendary Bob from the Bucks Team and upgrades his SCOPEDOG with parts from a Stealth Stronghold!
Folks, I can’t recommend the SCOPEDOG ATM-09-ST enough! It’s a fantastic reproduction if its anime counterpart and with such an awesome wave 1 line up, it’s one you definitely don’t want to miss. You can get yours here – B2FIVE VOTOMS SERIES – SCOPEDOG ATM-09-ST
Now, some may think that the BRUTISHDOG is nothing but a repaint, but it’s much more than that. The ATM-09-GC Brutishdog is a variation of the standard ATM-09-ST Scopedogthat is designed by the mysterious Secret Society for use by Perfect Soldiers. The Brutishdog is outfitted with dual roller gliding wheels, as well as advanced sensor systems. Because of its complicated controls, normal pilots are incapable of using the Brutishdog. The Brutishdog’s armament differs from the Scopedogin several ways. The right arm has been outfitted with a combination weapon mounting a heavy Gatling cannon and iron claw hand. The arm punch has been removed from the right arm to accommodate the new armament, but the left arm can still use the arm punch. The Brutishdog is used by Perfect Soldier Fyana, who fights several battles against Chirico on planet Melkia’s Woodo City. When Fyana sides with Chirico, the Brutishdog is destroyed in combat by the Woodo police force.
As with the SCOPEDOG, the BRUTISHDOG comes in gorgeous packaging, with a window box showing the upper portion of the Mech. As with previous B2FIVE offerings, the Mech, Pilot and accessories are enclosed in a plastic clamshell, with vibrant colors and description throughout the packaging. This time around, however, the clamshell includes a warning about bending this and other figures too far backwards, as it can damage their uniforms.
As with all B2FIVE offerings, Fyana’s articulation is incredible –
- Head
- Shoulders
- Biceps
- Wrists
- Ab Crunch
- Thighs
- Knees
- Ankles
As Proto One, I love that she includes her Perfect Soldier helmet. I’m honestly in love with the VOTOMS series so far and I really look forward to what else we may get in the line.
The BRUTISHDOG comes equipped with all of the enhancements from the anime that distinguish it from just another SCOPEDOG. The BRUTISHDOG is outfitted with dual roller gliding wheels, the right arm has been outfitted with a combination weapon mounting a heavy Gatling cannon and iron claw hand.
This set is much more than just an expansion pack, as it relates to a key plot of the anime. The Red Shoulder Battalion was part of the Gilgamesh Confederation’s Elite Forces. They were nicknamed “Bloodsuckers” and were piloted by highly trained soldiers infamous for their battlefield tactics (think Cobra’s Plague).
Thanks to MAHQ for the following intel: The Red Shoulder Battalion is easily recognized by their heavily armored custom ATM-09-ST Scopedog units, painted with a red shoulder. Following the end of the war, former Red Shoulder Chirico Cuvie hides from the Secret Society and the corrupt Woodo City police force on planet Melkia. To wage battle against the police, Chirico’s friend Vanilla Vartla outfits a Battling arena Scopedog with heavy weapons to create a unit similar to those used by the now-disbanded Red Shoulders. These armaments include a standard heavy machine gun, arm punch, Gatling gun, solid shooter, rocket launcher and SSM launcher. Although the custom unit strikes fear in Chirico’s enemies, Vanilla did get one detail wrong – Red Shoulder units are painted red on the right shoulder, not the left.
In the last six years of the Hundred Years War, no name was feared more than the Gilgamesh Confederation’s elite Red Shoulder Battalion. Nicknamed the “Bloodsucker Battalion,” these specially-trained soldiers are infamous for their savagery on the battlefield – no distinction is made between enemy, civilian and even ally. The Red Shoulder Battalion is easily recognized by their heavily armored custom ATM-09-ST Scopedog units, painted with a red shoulder. Following the end of the war, former Red Shoulder Chirico Cuvie hides from the Secret Society and the corrupt Woodo City police force on planet Melkia. As with other VOTOMS offerings in the wave, the RSC Expansion Pack features a window box that proudly displays not only the Red Shoulder, but Vanilla Vartla as well. The set also comes with the same warning that came in the BRUTISHDOG set, advising against bending your figures too far back, as it can damage their uniform.
The clam shell is a dual level; including the weaponry for the SCOPEDOG in one tray and an absolute arsenal of weaponry for your figures in a secondary tray.
The B2FIVE team has done an outstanding job keeping true to the VOTOMS anime, as the RED SHOULDER CUSTOM Expansion Pack includes all the items necessary to make your SCOPEDOG look just like it did on screen. These armaments include a:
- Standard Heavy Machine Gun
- Arm punch
- Gatling gun
- Solid shooter
- Rocket launcher
- SSM launcher
The Red Shoulder really pops on the SCOPEDOG and looks imposing without all of the extra weaponry…but where’s the fun in that?!
The ATM-09-RSC set turns your SCOPEDOG in to an absolute BEAST! I love the attention to detail that Beaver pays when it comes to their B2FIVE offerings and needless to say, their VOTOM series has been anything but lackluster.
All of the weaponry mounts perfectly and looks absolutely BAD ASS! I haven’t been able to set this piece down since arming it! In case you were wondering, YES, the set looks just as brilliant mounted on the BRUTISHDOG ATM-09-GC!
What’s really neat about both expansion packs is the fact that they include figures, too! This particular set includes Vanilla Vartla and a Security Soldier. I’m so excited to have Vanilla has a first wave offering as he’s one of my favorite characters from the story!
As noted earlier, not only does the set come with the weaponry needed to modify your GHOSTDOG, but it also comes with enough weapons to arm your Vanilla & Security Soldier figures nicely!
Vanilla Vartla looks like he just jumped right off of the screen and on to my desk. I again proclaim that Beaver did an outstanding job with these B2FIVE VOTOMS offerings. I want all of the characters now! As with Vanilla, the same can be said about the Security Soldier. These B2FIVE offerings are chock full of articulation, so you’ll have no problem posing, playing and pitting your Soldier against Vanilla.
Folks, the bottom line is this – You’d be doing yourself a disservice if you picked up a GHOSTDOG and didn’t upgrade it with the RED SHOULDER CUSTOM ATM-09-RSC Expansion Pack. For me, it’s an absolute MUST HAVE…but then again, so is this entire line so far!

As with other VOTOMS offerings in the wave, the ROUND MOVER Expansion Pack features a window box that proudly displays the B2FIVE Gilgamesh AT Pilot. The set also comes with the same warning that came in the BRUTISHDOG & RED SHOULDER CUSTOM sets, advising against bending your figures too far back, as it can damage their uniform.
The clam shell is a dual level; including the weaponry for the SCOPEDOG in one tray and an absolute arsenal of weaponry for your figures in a secondary tray.
The B2FIVE team has done an outstanding job keeping true to the VOTOMS anime, as the ROUND MOVER Expansion Pack includes all the items necessary to make your SCOPEDOG look just like it did on screen. These armaments include a:
- Heavy Bazooka
- ROUND MOVER Rocket Pack
The ATC-BR1-S set turns your SCOPEDOG in to an absolute BEAST! I love the attention to detail that Beaver pays when it comes to their B2FIVE offerings and needless to say, their VOTOM series has been anything but lackluster.
I love the look of this set as much as I enjoyed the RED SHOULDER CUSTOM set.
This particular set includes a Gilgamesh AT Pilot and Gilgamesh Soldier to pad out your ranks! As noted earlier, they include enough gear to achieve any combat directive!
The Gilgamesh AT Pilot looks awesome! Just like Vanilla, he looks like he jumped right off of the screen and right in to my hands! The Gilgamesh Soldier is the perfect compliment to the set and rounds out the initial wave perfectly. Can’t have too many troop builders!
These VOTOMS Expansion Packs are all sorts of awesome and I’m so happy to have been able to check them out! You can get your own ROUND MOVER Expansion Pack from Beaver here – B2FIVE VOTOMS SERIES – ROUND MOVER ATC-BRI-S EXPANSION PACK
