Black Major Toys Purple Haze Sunbow Snake Eyes Homage Pictorial Review

I’m continuing my look at the 2019 SE v2 based offerings from Black Major Toys with a pictorial of the Sunbow Homage, “Purple Haze”!

Based on the colors of the original animation, this homage figure has become a quick hit among Black Major Toy fans. To give you an idea why, here’s a pic of how Snake Eyes appeared on screen –

I’ve put together a gallery of nearly 40 images of this homage for you to check out below, followed by my thoughts afterwards!

Sporting an all Purple base with Gray, Black and Silver highlights, he pops in hand. If I had to share a gripe, it would be the cobra logo, but that’s a small note on an otherwise killer figure (and nothing that a magic eraser can’t fix).

Purple Haze’s Wolf is two toned; Gray with a white stomach. He sports a dark gray “skunk stripe” down his back, making him look the most Timber-like out of all the releases I’ve examined so far.

As far as gear goes, Purple Haze comes equipped with the same accessories as the original SEv2 – His Sword, Uzi and back pack, unlike his predecessor that included a cross bow & uzi. Collectors, as I’ve mentioned in other SEv2 reviews, please note – The Sword IS SHARP AND HAS A VERY POINTY EDGE. As such, I wouldn’t recommend that particular weapon for smaller children (and you be careful too, lol!)

Now, many who pick this figure up may note that the sword doesn’t exactly fit in the slots on the backpack. Well, no worries, you can do one of two things –

Place the blade on it’s side (see pics above).
Carefully shave off the excess in each slot.

A small nitpick, really, as the Sword being held in a different position allows us to look at the figure as completely different, embracing his new role as Invasor.
