Unproduced 1995 Star Brigade Thrasher Artwork and 2up for auction at Hakes Americana

It wasn’t too long ago that a series of unreleased carded G.I.Joe Star Brigade Manimals figures appeared on eBay…and at that point, I thought to myself “wow, you don’t see that every day.” Well, leave it up to Mr. Kevin Watts and his amazing collection to prove that there’s so much to the G.I.Joe universe left to be seen.

Kevin has been liquidating parts of his collection via Hake’s Americana and Collectibles. Included in this latest round is a rarity that many have only ever heard of through postings on sites like YoJoe. As eluded to in the title, I’m referring to the unproduced 1995 Star Brigade Thrasher figure!

“Thrasher” (working name) was set to come out in ’95 and met the same fate as other offerings slated for release that year. The collection Kevin has amassed of this character is beyond impressive, including original art by Kurt Groen, a painted sample of Thrasher’s head and the Crown Jewel (IMO) of the assortment, a 2up of Thrasher! I’ve mirrored images and listings with descriptions of each lot below. Check it out –
